ELEC 233
Introductory Electrical Lab I

Spring 2005

Objectives:

The formal course objectives for this lab can be found here . Along with these formal objectives we hope that by the end of this lab you will become comfortable with the equipment used in the lab and will feel comfortable experimenting on your own. There is a lot in the labs which is of a ``cookbook'' nature with step by step instructions. The goal of these instructions is not to limit your ability to explore but to provide you with a framework that can guide your initial exploration. The techniques you will learn in this lab and the insights you gain from these labs will be useful in all your future labs so spend some time learning them. They will save you a lot of time later.

Prelabs:

You will perform your prelabs on the EDU websites.
Section 1 (Wednesday 2:30 - 5:20) students should register at the Section 1 EDU website
Section 2 (Tuesday 1:30 - 4:20 pm) students should register at the Section 2 EDU website
Section 3 (Thursday 4:40 - 7:30 pm) students should register at the Section 3 EDU website
The prelabs will be available only until 8:00 am of the day of your lab. So, it would be an extremely good idea to work on your prelabs several days before the lab date. This will help you avoid last minute computer glitches, or other unforseen circumstances. You have to get at least 90\% in your prelab in order for it to count. You can retake the prelab as many times as you need to and there are no time limits.
